I tried my best to pull from all of the travel blogs/tips/tricks along the way and here is what I came up with!
Obviously having way too much fun putting this together... |
- Lululemon Run: Mod :: Wear pants that are comfortable. You'll be airplane-ing in them. I loooooove these leggings for a bajillion and a half reasons. They have POCKETS in the side which are so so ideal for stuffing your cellphone and boarding pass in. They feel like pajamas and are perfect simply in black.
- London Fog Trench :: Wear your bulkiest items on the plane to save space in your luggage. This is my bulkiest coat for sure. I got it at TJMaxx (of course) last winter on clearance for $40. The navy color is the perfect neutral. Planning on carrying this on to my flight. And hey, if my luggage gets lost again, I'll have my trusty coat.
- Plain Vneck :: Okay okay... its kind of a risk to wear white while traveling, but nothing makes me feel cleaner than a fresh white tee. It'll be just my luck that I spill coffee all over it within the first 15 minutes like I did earlier this week. :/
- Yellow and Grey Scarf :: Scarves are an airplane essential! Pillow, blanket and fun color all rolled into one. I bought this bad boy at Target (similar here) for a whopping $3 on clearance. This thing is HUGE and really lightweight. It folds out to a giant square and the bright yellow is so cheerful.
- D&G Glasses :: My own personal glasses.. contact lenses on a flight? Forget about it.
- Jansport Skagit 30 :: Super dorky and screams tourist, but this backpack fits all and everything I could ever need. Another Marshall's purchase, this will double as my weekender bag for traveling while abroad, but as my carry on for my international flight. (Will be posting contents of my carry on later....stay tuned.) The bungee cord is perfect for squeezing in a neck pillow or blankie (aka scarf).
- Black Draped Open Front Cardigan :: Black is perfect for traveling because it masks and stains and always looks chic. If you know me, you know that I WEAR THIS THING WITH EVERYTHING. This cardigan is the kind of jersey material that never ever wrinkles and always looks way nicer than it actually is. I love that there are no buttons or zippers or clasps that could possibly cut into you while you are trying to fall asleep in a tiny airplane seat.
- Slip-on Converse :: Wear shoes that are easy to take on and off to get through security. Another Marshall's purchase, no shock there. Converse are so iconic and these cream colored ones are perfectly neutral. The lack of shoelaces helps them seem less 7th-grade-middle-school-punk-ish.
So there you have it!
More to come as my packing and prepping continues!
17 DAYS AND COUNTING!
Devotissimo Suo,
M
